Describe about your innovation
The product Sahayatha, a convertible wheelchair cum bed with inbuilt defecation assistance for the mobility-impaired population. The proposed product is an innovation in the field of rehabilitation with precise control, accurate movements enhance the life of mobility-impaired patients with features like a. Product can be converted into a wheelchair cum bed versa b. The Defecation assembly consists of collecting, automatic cleansing, and packing process. The prior art search has already been done by patent experts. The existing patent landscape was analyzed and designed accordingly; there is a high scope of patentability for the design. Also, in market research, there were not many similar products available extensively in the Indian or the International market. Innovative elements - The product converts into a bed to bed and vice versa and helps in automatic defecation cleansing and packing mechanism Value proposition: For Immobile patients/ Covid patients • Eliminates the patient transfer • Independent locomotion • Defecation process - Easier, Independent, Hygiene with dignity For Caretakers/nurse • Makes the process hassle-free • Reduces negligence associated with repeated manual care For Hospitals • Reduces time and labor (Includes business propositions) • Nurses can be more productive and effective The impact of the created is • Improving the quality of life of about 16+ elderly mobility-impaired individuals and 87+ patients in covid ICU • Improve in social and economic wellbeing • Decreased dependency • Easier and hygiene defecation process • Reduce in fall rate of 90% immobile/ elderly population during transfer • Assist the patients in easy and hygiene defecation with dignity reducing the caretaker assistance, in a hospital or retirement home the number of caretakers for a single patient is reduced from 3 to 1 with a single product of Sahayatha. Current stage: We have completed clinical pilot study and certification of the product and deployed few pieces and have pre-orders of 57, scaling up the product to launch in the market.
